The ceremonial opening of a new Network Laboratory at Cracow University of Technology was held on 14th November 2018 in the presence of the University authorities and representatives of Salumanus. The laboratory equipped with DCN network devices will enable students to gain practical knowledge on the newest technologies of data transmission.
The first stage of our contribution to the University was to equip the laboratory with 10 modern L3 enterprise-class access switches together with cabling, worth over 8,500 euro. The delivered network devices allow to build professional copper and fibre network infrastructure, owing to which the students will be able to gain practical knowledge and experiment with CLI commands during the laboratory workshops.
As it was said Krzysztof Podgórski - the Founder and President of the Board of Directors at Salumanus during the official handover ceremony of network devices to the University:– Information and communication technologies are becoming an inherent element of more and more areas of life. In the era of Internet of Things (IoT), advanced robotics and automation not only in industry but also in many aspects of everyday life, a good understanding of Ethernet network is, according to my thinking, a key element in the education of students at technical universities. I am very glad that by co-organizing the laboratory we can support Cracow University of Technology, one of the most important technical universities in Poland in educating new generations of students.
The importance of cooperation with Salumanus was emphasized by Rector of Cracow University of Technology, prof. Jan Kazior:– There is no good education without cooperation between a university and a reliable partner from the business surrounding. Owing to the support from Salumanus, our students being still at university will have the opportunity to discover new technologies and devices they will use in their professional work. This practical experience will significantly raise their competencies and contribute to a stronger position in the job market.
The new Academic Laboratory is an element of a wider cooperation between the Company and the University. Based on the Agreement signed between the Parties in May 2018, Salumanus has been cooperating with the University by organizing practical trainings for students, assisting in dissertation works and offering certified trainings and courses conducted by experts. Salumanus will further aid the University by providing more equipment and devices used to build optical network infrastructure.Video:
